Large Vintage Cast Iron & Wood Drafting Table

IMG_1790

This one has sold. We have another nearly identical one recently listed for sale. The same cast iron legs, and table surface dimensions. It’s a stunning vintage drafting table. Click here for the latest posted drafting table.

Offering a handsome cast iron and wood drafting table. Circa 1910s-1920s. I’ve sold a lot of antique/vintage drafting tables, but this is a very unique one with solid cast iron legs. It’s also rather large with the table top measuring 60 inches wide. The drafting table is in remarkable condition, and everything works perfectly as intended. There’s a lot of versatility with these old industrial furniture pieces. I’ve sold vintage drafting tables to buyers intent on using them for various purposes. Frequently they get repurposed as kitchen islands, dining tables and desks. For more information on this drafting table, please visit Hartong International on Chairish.

A Lovely Working 1920’s Victrola Full Size Gramophone- Fantastic Original Condition

Offered at $995.-  Was $1295.- SOLD

A 1920’s full size Mahogany Victrola VV-XIa. It’s complete with the motor working well. The motor had been taken out and cleaned, including the motor springs. It plays very well. The motor governor has a missing counter weight, which means after winding it up, the turntable just needs a light push to get it going. The springs hold a fantastic amount of energy, giving this Victrola an excellent amount of playing time. Mechanically it will play records for a very longtime to come.

The mahogany case to this Victrola has an original finish, which shines nicely. It has normal wear, dings and scratches to the finish. The original lacquer fiinsh has some cracked areas, but this is to be expected of an old finish. It shows very nicely. The Victrola has been cleaned and waxed with a fine museum wax, giving it a fantastic shine! Definitely a very solid fully functional Victrola. The bright work is excellent and the nickel plating is exceptionally well preserved.

The Victrola comes with a 1927 music catalog, some needles and a few records. A very enjoyable piece!

Aquatint Engraving of Magdalen Tower, From The Bridge, Oxford, Printed in 1802, Very Good Condition, Large Original Engraving

Offered at $450.- SOLD

A lovely original Aquatint Engraving of Oxford, from 1802. It’s a very large engraving with fine details and excellent colouring. There is a very slight bit of foxing at the top of the engraving. The overall condition is good and is clean of any serious damage. It’s an impressive print, in size and overall condition.

The frame is black and likely from the later part of the 19th century. The glass is wavy, which is very desirable, as it shows the print was framed a very longtime ago.

It’s remarkable, how little the architecture has changed in busy Oxford, since the Industrial Revolution! Besides street lights, cars and bicycles, the picture hasn’t changed much.

Published by Wm. De La Motte, Oxford, April 14th 1802.

Please be in contact for shipping charges. Insured UPS Ground is offered on this piece. There is a $30.- handling fee, for proper packaging, specified for art work. Buyer is responsible for all shipping related charges.

Young Lady with Dog, 1938

YOUNG LADY WITH DOG

Signed and Dated 1938

A pre-WWII portrait of a lady seated in period clothing with a small dog.  The painting is signed, but the name of the artist is hard to read.  The painter obviously had formal training, as the proportions and composition are well thought out.  It appears to have been created over several sittings, with many layers of paint present.  It’s a vibrant painting in both colour and subject. The plaster copper leaf frame is complimentary to several details within the painting.  The frame has a few small repairs to the plaster, which are blended in rather well and only noticeable with a close inspection. The frame measures 24″x31″.

I was told it was painted in Massachusetts.  The subject in the painting is holding a cigarette, but be assured the painting itself has no offensive smells.

Offered at $545.- SOLD
